in the window at a flat shop vol. 6: 07/09/22 - 11/09/22

some fish in the window this week at a flat shop frome street. think that’s a lie? see below:

and just in case there’s any confusion, the cyclist was just there in passing (not hovering, motion blurry, in the window). and unfortunately, also blocking half the outfits!! so let’s try that again, with full outfits visible this time. see below:

so as you’ve seen already, the tops of both outfits are angel fish print garments with yellow and blue zebra stripes (one a bomber jacket and the other a short sleeve shirt). but now the bottoms of both are revealed: on the left (with the short sleeve shirt) a mormon rodeo skirt by melbourne-based label be right back (b-r-b) and on the right a pair of issey miyake men cargo pants. it’s interesting (or perhaps not interesting, but obvious, or perhaps interesting, and also obvious) how much the style of bottom can change the feeling of an outfit (although the tops are also different and that probably contributes): the leftfit feels quite beachy (?) whereas the rightfit feels much more sporty (?). although Obviously the two are not mutually exclusive, being that the beach is also a common site for sports.

anyway, that’s what’s in the first / bigger window this week. and this is what’s in the smaller second window:

it’s a black coat by salvatore ferragamo, worn over a long (and certainly long-er) dress from issey miyake’s ‘fete’ line. the coat has a great, kind of layered collar, and although it’s hidden a little by the coat that’s over it, the dress has a really delightful, quite asymmetrical ruffle running down the front.

as always clicking the links in the write-up will take you to each item’s product page. and that’s all for this week’s windows!
