In the window at a flat shop vol. 1: 02/08/22 - 07/08/22

welcome to the first instalment of ‘in the window at a flat shop’, a weekly breakdown of the window display at our 58 frome street pop-up. this week we have these two outfits:

on the left, this robe de chambre comme des garcons pinafore layered over a tricot comme des garcons plaid panelled top. and on the right, an issey miyake men box patterned jumper hung with these striped wool trousers by tricot comme des garcons. those of you who have visited a flat shop in person, or who haven’t, but have looked at pictures of a flat shop online, might well know how perfect a match the box jumper especially is for a flat shop. and for Those of you who don’t know, it’s a very perfect match - the box (especially the cardboard box) is our main visual merchandising material + also storage solution. you could say the box is a flat shop’s emblem and this box jumper has stopped in for a visit at home before it (hopefully) finds a new one.

regardless, onwards and onwards as they say. we have another window and so we have another outfit. this week, that outfit is this:

this outfit (looming above, which is fitting because, as you’d find if you saw it or do see it in person, the hook is hanging high): a crescent down works puffer jacket, worn with this issey miyake pleated skirt and a knitted cotton vest by junya watanabe which is that lil patch of blue you can just sort of sea (which is the opposite of a little patch, but is also blue, or maybe blue-y green) poking out from the puffer.
